Zadar seize a precious road win in Novo mesto

Game recap: Zadar added another big win to their season record as they defeated Krka on the road in Round 4 of the 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season. 

Everything was over already in the first half in which the visitors have played probably their best 20 minutes of the season so far. Zadar scored 48 points in the first half, while they had a 22-point lead at the big break – 48:26.

In the rest of the match, Zadar have kept their double-digit lead without any major problems and the away side eventually seized their 2^nd win of the season.

Zadar now have the overall score of 2-2, while Krka dropped to 1-3 as this was their 3^rd consecutive defeat in the season.  

Key moments: There is no doubt that the 2^nd quarter was the key period in this game. Zadar had a 7-point lead at the start of it – 23:16, while then they went on to extend the gap to 22 points in the following 10 minutes – 48:26.

Zadar won the 2^nd quarter by 25:10!

Man of the match: Zadar’s star player Luka Božić was once again impressive as he made 24 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the overall index rating of 29. Yet, we should also mention the performances of Karlo Žganec who had 23 points and Dario Drežnjak who scored 21 points today. Three of them guided Zadar toward this big road win.

Can’t trick the stats: Away teams usually have problems with their 3-point shot in Leon Štukelj Sports Hall, however Zadar managed to score 15 three-pointers today in Novo mesto! Those 3-point shots helped the visitors get that big lead in the 1st half.
