Game recap: In the opening game of the Saturday’s AdmiralBet ABA League schedule, Igokea m:tel have prevailed over Split at home in their Laktaši Sports Hall in Laktaši. This is the 10th win of the season for the Laktaši squad, and with a record of 10:6 after 16 rounds, they will be placed on the 5th place when the Round 16 ends. On the other side, Split are now on a 6:10 record and they will need to start winning more regularly soon, in order to elevate themselves in the standings towards the Playoffs Zone and get closer to accomplishing their goals, set for the season.

Key moments: Igokea m:tel quickly pulled away, as they went on a 17:1 run between the 8th and 13th minute of the game, to create themselves a comfortable 23-point lead (37:14). As it turned out later in the game, however, these were not the key moments of the game, as Split have made a miraculous comeback in the third quarter, when they managed to cut the gap between the two squads to only a point (61:60) with a minute and a half to go in the third. Igokea m:tel quickly replied with a 9:0 run in the remaining 90 seconds of the third period, to finish the 30 minutes of play with a 10-point advantage (70:60).

As it turned out, Split did manage to bounce back again and made it a 2-point game late in the game again with 2 minutes to go, but it was not enough to make a comeback. After the two squads entered the final minute separated by 2 points, Igokea made a 4:0 run, that pulled them away by 6 (88:82) with 23 seconds to go and the winner has been decided.

Man of the match: Bryce Jones has been a true floor general for Igokea m:tel once again, as he led them to the win with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and a valuation of 28 on his record. He is our man of the match!

Can’t trick the stats: It has been Igokea m:tel’s dominance in the paint that made the difference this time. They had 34 rebounds and Split only 23 and that’s what turned the flow of the game their way.
