Široki TT Kabeli beat Borac Mozzart on the road in a thrilling season opener
Široki TT Kabeli triumphed in Čačak in the opening game of the 2026/27 AdmiralBet ABA League campaign.

Game recap: HKK Široki TT Kabeli have made a perfect return to the AdmiralBet ABA League as they defeated Borac Mozzart on the road in Čačak by 87:81.
The visitors took control early and, after leading 17:13 at the end of the first quarter, produced an excellent second period to create a significant advantage. Široki scored 31 points in the second quarter and went to the locker room with a comfortable 48:31 lead.
Borac Mozzart came out with a completely different energy after the break. The home side won the third quarter 28:18 and continued their comeback in the fourth, eventually reducing the gap to just one point at 75:76. However, Široki stayed calm when the game was on the line, with Tayler Persons making several important plays down the stretch to secure a huge road win for the ABA League returnees.
Key moments: After Borac had reduced what was once a 17-point halftime deficit to just 75:76, Široki needed an answer - and they found one.
The visitors managed to stay in front throughout the decisive final minutes. Persons scored an important basket for 80:77 and later added more crucial points as Široki moved ahead 84:79. Borac made one final push and reduced the gap to 84:81, but Široki responded again and closed the game in their favor.
Man of the match: Chavaughn Lewis was the top performer for the winning side. He finished the game with 19 points, 3 assists and 2 steals, while recording a team-high 24 valuation.
Tayler Persons also played a huge role in the victory with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists, including several crucial plays in the closing minutes.
Two of them deserve to share this recognition.
Can't trick the stats: Široki's shooting efficiency was one of the biggest differences between the two teams. The visitors converted an impressive 69.7% of their two-point attempts and shot 92% from the free-throw line.
They also won the rebounding battle 31:25, while Borac struggled from long range, making just 9 of their 33 three-point attempts (27.3%).
