Defeats for Budućnost and Olimpija

Budućnost VOLI and Union Olimpija were both defeated in the 5th round of Eurocup regular season. While Budućnost lost in Bucharest against Steaua, Union Olimpija were defeated at home court against Oldenburg.

Union Olimpija suffered their third loss this season in the Eurocup, by losing at home in Stožice Arena against EWE Baskets Oldenburg. The decisive one was the first quarter, during which the guests have created themselves an eight point lead. The Dragons returned into the battle for two points in the final minutes, even took the lead a bit before the end, but in the end lost by a point. Ronalds Zakis was the top scorer of the home side with 17 points.

Budućnost VOLI were close to a road victory against CSM Steaua in Bucharest, but poor game opening (deficit of 14 points by half time) turned out to be fatal in the end. The squad led by Igor Jovović fought back hard in the second half, came back to the few point of margin in the end, but did not manage to turn the game around.

Tadija Dragićević was the top scorer of the game with 20 points. For Steaua, former Union Olimpija and Crvena zvezda Telekom player Marko Marinović had 18 points.
