Game recap: It was very exciting in Novo mesto. Cibona managed to return from -17 and to lead this game into a thrilling finish. But, in crucial moments, Krka were simply better. Home side rejected all attempts of their rivals to take over the lead and eventually scored a win... A well-deserved win, if you have in mind that Krka have been in front throughout the whole match. It is also important to mention that Cibona lost one of their key players in the third quarter, as Ante Žižić had to leave the game due to head injury. Hopefully, the young player will return on court already during the next week.
Key moments: Cibona had two big chances to take over the lead. Firstly, at 75:75 when Andrija Žižić missed a free-throw. But, the second chance was far more important. It was 87:86 for Krka, while Cibona had the ball and enough time for the last attack on the game. James Florence hurried up a bit as he tried to be the hero... However, he missed a lay-up on 8 seconds before the end of the game. Krka picked up a rebound and finished this game from a free-throw line.
Man of the match: Jure Lalić was ruthless toward his former team. He was keeping Krka in front with 24 points, while he finished the game with 35 index points! Really amazing performance from this experienced center. Stefan Sinovec was also very good today, as he scored 23 points for the winning side.
Can't trick the stats: Krka had 12 rebounds more than Cibona! The visitors could not cover it up not even with 12 three pointers...
