Story of the game: Besides the Zagreb derby, another clash of local rivals is coming up in the 16th round of the ABA League, as Krka are about to host Tajfun in Novo mesto and expect to get their payback for the recent failures against the šentjur squad.
Let"s remember, Tajfun were the ones to eliminate Krka in the knockout stages of last season"s Slovenian national championship and, in the third round of this season, they have humiliated Ivan Velić"s squad with a 74:51 win at home court in Celje.
However, Krka have different plans at the moment and by beating Zadar on the road in Višnjik in the previous round they have proven their quality. On the other side, Tajfun"s successful streak ended last round with a painful defeat to Cibona.
Two new faces are expected to make their debuts for Krka at this game - point guards Matic Rebec and Boban Tomić, which is another reason for the home fans to be optimistic before the eagerly expected clash.
Match-up in focus: Jure Lalić has emerged as one of the top centers of ABA League since he is currently the fifth player of the entire league, according to the individual index rating. Tajfun"s main strength also comes from beneath the rim, and Emir Zimić, 217 cm tall center will be his main challenge this time. This will be a battle to watch this time around.
