Dream debut for Džile, Partizan rolled over Cibona

In the first game under the guidance of their new head coach Aleksandar Džikić, Partizan NIS have rolled over their big rival Cibona in the ABA League classic in Pionir Hall.

Game recap: In a true ABA League classic, Partizan NIS have, in their first game with a new head coach Aleksandar Džikić aboard, ran over Cibona at home. The clash was played in a tremendous atmosphere in front of 6,000 fans in Pionir Hall and due to the energy from the stands it seemed at some points, that Džikić"s squad simply could not lose this one, although Cibona players did take it into a thriller in the end.

This is an important win for Partizan NIS, which have found themselves deep in the battle to avoid relegation, while Cibona are now approaching the danger zone, which they managed to escape recently, again.

Key moments: Even though they were behind for the majority of the game, even with a double digit margin, Cibona managed to enter the last minute with a 1-point advantage, especially thanks to a streak of 8 straight points by Ante Žižić late in the game which gave them an 8:0 run and returned them into the battle for the win. However, the home team were more focused on the free throw line in the final minute and managed to turn the game around once more and celebrated.

Man of the match: Čedomir Vitkovac was everywhere during this game. He led his team in scoring (15 points) and rebounding (12 rebounds), made two block and a steal and assist each and also collected the highest index of the game (26). He is our man of the match.

Can't trick the stats: Partizan NIS have simply been dominant in the air. They have overrebounded their opponents with 44:29 in rebounds and this is the fact that turned the clash in their favour.
