Zvezda triumphed in Athens

Crvena zvezda Telekom have achieved a huge victory on the road in Athens against the mighty Panathinaikos in the third round of Euroleague Top 16. Cedevita suffered a painful defeat in Malaga against Unicaja.

The reigning ABA League champions Crvena zvezda Telekom have achieved their first success in the Euroleague Top 16 and they did it with style, on the road in Athens against the Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos.The red and white were in front for the big majority of the game and kept increasing their lead until the end, when they triumphed with the final score of 74:63. The top scorer of Dejan Radonjić"s squad was Maik Zirbes with 12, while he was followed by Branko Lazić and Vladimir štimac, which both achieved 11 points.

Cedevita, on the other hand, suffered their second defeat of the Top 16 stage of competition in their third appearance. They could not resist the pressure by Unicaja players on the road in Malaga and it became evident in the first half already, which they lost with 21 points of margin. Luka Babić was the only bright point in the hosts" team with 24 points on his account. Jacob Pullen added 16 for Cedevita.
