ABA League 25th round, Monday, 29.2.2016:
PARTIZAN NIS - Cedevita 82:61 (29:24, 19:10, 16:12, 18:15)
Game recap: Partizan NIS remain with only one defeat in ABA League on their account since Aleksandar Džikić took over their team. Another victim of their strength demonstration was Zagreb Euroleague powerhouse Cedevita, which fell to a high deficit in the first half and did not manage to recover until the end of the game. This is another giant leap of the black and white from Belgrade towards the final fifth place in the standings, where they now stand alone with 12 victories made, while it also represents a huge blow for Cedevita. With Crvena zvezda Telekom triumphing over Cibona in Zagreb, they now fell to third place and are now in a position which does not give them a home-court advantage in the semi-finals. In case their position in the standings does not change in the final round, of course.
Key moments: Partizan NIS started the game fiercely and quickly created themselves a mention-worthy margin. They marched on towards winning the first half with a 14-point advantage. Five minutes into the second half, the margin reached 22 points (58:36) and this was the point from which the guests from Zagreb never managed to recover until the end of the game.
Man of the match: Kevin Jones probably was not the most noted player during this game since he did not stand out with any particularly attractive plays, but there remains little doubt whether he deserved the man of the match honour. He led the way for his team in scoring with 21 points, while adding 3 points, 2 assists and a steal to his stats. He finished the game with valuation of 23, the highest in his team.
Can't trick the stats: The home side outnumbered the guests in practically every statistically category, but perhaps the most notable is the category of rebounding, with Cedevita collecting only 29 rebounds compared to 40 of Partizan NIS.
