Giant leap towards Euroleague Playoffs in red and white Kombank Arena

Crvena zvezda Telekom continue their march towards the Euroleague Playoffs. This time they were better than Panathinaikos in a thriller in Kombank Arena. A day before, Cedevita lost to Unicaja in Zagreb.

Crvena zvezda Telekom are now pretty close to securing themselves a spot in the Euroleague Playoffs, as they have made another huge leap towards reaching their next goal, by beating Panathinaikos 69:67 in front of 18,000 fans in Kombank Arena.

Dejan Radonjić"s squad did not begin the game in the most successful fashion, as they have lost the opening quarter by 8 points and went to the half time with a deficit of three (31:28). However, they have bounced back for good in the third quarter, which they have won 25:11 and which gave them an 11-point lead before the decisive part of the game.

In the final minutes, Panathinaikos managed to tie the score and it has been anybody"s game in the last moments of the game, but Zvezda managed to get away with a 2-point win. For the home side, Tarence Kinsey topped the list of scorers with 19 points, while Quincy Miller added 16.

Cedevita got defeated by Unicaja a night before. The Zagreb crew only had a good opening in this match, as they quickly escaped to 15:8… However, then everything fell apart. Unicaja has taken over the lead already until the end of the 1^st quarter, and they have stayed in front till the end.

The Spanish side made the crucial margin in the 3^rd period when they created a double-digit lead. The away team looked just unstoppable in offense, while they finished this match with 6 players having 10+ points in their stats. Cedevita were just powerless to answer back this time.
