ABA TV: Marko Simonović - "It just had to go in at one point"

Marko Simonović was one of the key players of Crvena zvezda Telekom in the Game 1 of the ABA League Finals. Experienced player scored all of his 15 points in the second half, while his 3 three-pointers in the last quarter brought a decisive lead to the red and whites.

"We have just begun. Mega Leks are a young team, but you could see in Game 1 how difficult it was to play against them. We have to be even more careful in Game 2, because they will play much stronger. The good thing is that once again we will play in front of our fans. The moment they 'increased the volume' in the hall we started playing much better, we raised our defensive level and eventually scored a well-deserved win."

Marko Simonović got on fire in the last quarter when he scored 3 three-pointers in a short time and helped Crvena zvezda Telekom increase their lead from 74:72 to 88:75.

"At the beginning the ball just did not want to go through the basket. My shots were either a bit short or a bit long, but at one point they just had to go in. If we had made some shots in the first half, we would have had more comfortable lead at the halftime. Also, we have also made some ridiculous mistakes, like that one when we conceded a three-pointer and made a foul under the basket. But, we managed to take it until the end and to score a valuable win. Now we focus on the Game 2."
