Miha Lapornik parted ways with Olimpija and joined Bilbao

Miha Lapornik will continue his basketball career in Spain. Excellent shooting guard decided to leave Union Olimpija and to sign with Bilbao Basket.

The Dragons have stayed without one of their best players from the previous season. After just one year spent in Ljubljana, Miha Lapornik decided not to extend his contract with Union Olimpija. Instead, he will go abroad for the first time in his career.

Miha Lapornik signed a one-year contract with Bilbao Basket, with an option to extend it for one more year. The Spanish club confirmed this transfer on its official website.

Lapornik was averaging 12.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1 assist per match in the 2015/16 ABA League season. Before arriving in Union Olimpija in summer of 2015, he played 5 seasons in Zaltorog Laško.
