Igor Marić signed with Zadar

Igor Marić has officially become the new member of Zadar. The club agreed on a one-year deal with the experienced 31-year old shooting guard.

Marić spent the previous two seasons in Slovakia with Previdza, with which he became the Slovakian national champion last season. Before that he played for Dubrava, Zabok and Svjetlost, as well as Slovenian sides šentjur and Maribor.

"We are glad to have reached an agreement with Marić. He represents a serious reinforcement for us. He is a player full of energy, that likes to practice and his experience will be invaluable for our young team. We expect him to improve our game and to be a role-model for the rest of the players. Naturally he is a good shooter and is full of self-confidence,” Zadar Sports Director Branko Skroče told.

Last season in Previdza, Marić averaged 14 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in Slovakian national championship.

Igor Marić i službeno je novi igrač Zadra. S iskusnim, 31-godišnjim šuterom dogovorena je jednogodišnja suradnja.

Marić je zadnje dvije godine igrao za slovačku Prievidzu, s kojom je prošle sezone osvojio naslov prvaka. Prethodno je igrao u Dubravi, Zaboku i Svjetlosti, te slovenskim klubovima šentjuru i Mariboru.

"Zadovoljni smo što smo se uspjeli dogovoriti s Marićem. On je značajno pojačanje za nas. On je igrač energije koji voli raditi, voli trenirati i njegovo iskustvo bit će od velike koristi našoj mladoj momčadi. Očekujemo da će poboljšati našu igru i dati primjer ostalim igračima. Po prirodi je dobar šuter, pun je samopouzdanja što se vidjelo u ogledu s Jollyem kad je ubacio 25 koševa, od čega 5 trica," rekao je sportski direktor Zadra Branko Skroče.
