Story of the game: The best basketball show is coming back to Sremska Mitrovica after a summer break. It was right there in Sports Hall Pinki where the last match of the previous season was held, when Mega Leks lost the title from Crvena zvezda mts.
Still, despite that final defeat, Mega Leks had a historic season and their fans hope that the team can have a similar ABA League journey in the 2016/17 campaign.
The league vice-champions will host Union Olimpija on the opening day of the new season. The Dragons have drastically changed their roster during the summer, but they always have very high ambitions so they will do everything to start the new ABA League campaign with a win.
Matchup in focus: it is really hard to tell which duel might decide the winner of this clash, as both teams have plenty of new players in their rosters. Still, it will be interesting to watch former teammates playing at the opposite sides. Alpha Kaba and Nikola Janković were a fierce tandem of Mega Leks in 2015/16 season, Kaba stayed in the club, while Janković moved to Union Olimpija this summer. They know everything about each other, so expect a tough battle down in the paint.
