In one of the greatest derbies of the past decade in the ABA League, Cedevita are about to host Crvena zvezda mts in Dom sportova, Zagreb and will try to get their revenge for the defeat in the first part of the regular season, by handing Zvezda their first loss of the season.

ABA League 15th round, Sunday, 25.12.2016:

CEDEVITA CRVENA ZVEZDA MTS

Where? Dom sportova, Zagreb

When? 19:00

Story of the game: The entire basketball part of the region is eagerly awaiting the clash of the basketball giants in Dom sportova, where Cedevita will host Crvena zvezda mts.

It is the battle of two teams that have constantly been in the very top of the regional competition throughout the previous several years and Cedevita have a desire to defeat the reigning champions and get their revenge over the red and white from the first part of the regular season, when they were better with the final score of 88:64 in Aleksandar Nikolić Hall, Belgrade.

Their task wouldn’t be easy, though, since they would become the first team this season to beat Zvezda in the ABA League. But, nothing is impossible, especially when considering huge strength of both rivals and the home court advantage of Cedevita.

Also, the advantage of Cedevita is for sure also the fact that they have had enough time to prepare for the game during the week, when they have only faced Zadar in the Croatian National Championship, while resting some of the important players, while Zvezda have played 2 tough games in the EuroLeague, against Olympiacos and Real Madrid, losing the first and outplaying the second, which for sure has exhausted their squad at least a bit.

Match-up in focus: There will be so many excellent players on court on both sides, so it is difficult to pick one match-up, but perhaps the most interesting will be the one of currently red hot Ra’shad James, which is averaging 17 points per game in all competition with high field goal shooting percentages, and Stefan Jović, one of the most promising point guards in Europe at the moment Stefan Jović, which is especially known for his playmaking abilities. It will be a fantastic clash of two magnificent players.

Head to head in the regional league: In total 9:12; In Zagreb 7:3.
