BCL: Defeats for Cibona and Partizan NIS

Cibona and Partizana NIS were defeated on the 13th round of the Basketball Champions League regular season. Strasbourg and AEK were too strong for the ABA League sides.

Cibona travelled to Strasbourg to meet SIG Strasbourg on the road and the journey did not end well for Damir Mulaomerović’s side.

The home team went in charge quickly, led by 6 points after the first quarter and then kept raising the margin until the end of the clash. The final score was 71:56 in favour of the French side. Scottie Reynolds led the way in scoring for Cibona with 15 points, while Luka Žorić had 12.

Partizan NIS hosted AEK at home in Aleksandar Nikolić Hall and they did not manage to grab a revenge for the seventh round defeat in Athens. The guests were the ones to quickly take the lead (8 points after the first quarter and the same amount of points of margin at half time) and their advatntage lasted until the end of the game even though the black and white made the game exciting again in the final minutes. The final score was 69:65 in favour of AEK and Stefan Birčević was the top scorer of Partizan with 16 points. Novica Veličković added 13.

A day before, Mornar and Mega Leks were defeated on the road against Juventus Utena and Oostende, respectively.
