ABA League 22nd round, Saturday, 11.2.2017:
Where? FMP Sports Hall, Belgrade
When? 21:00
Story of the game: A game of two direct competitors for one of the spots in the upper half of the standings at the end of the season is about to take place in Belgrade, as FMP will host Union Olimpija and try to get their revenge for the defeat in the first half of the season.
Union Olimpija are currently occupying the seventh place in the standings with nine wins gathered after 21 rounds, while FMP are currently are currently ninth placed with one triumph less won so far.
However, given that they are only two wins at the same time away from Zadar, who are at the very bottom of the standings, FMP desperately need to win in order to escape the danger zone with a possibility of relegation. Olimpija are currently a bit more calm, since five rounds before the end of the regular season, they are 3 wins above the bottom of the standings.
The first time that the two sides met this season, Olimpija were more successful with a close 89:85 win at home court in Stožice.
Match-up in focus: It will be an interesting clash of two sharp-shooters at the point guard position. Both Filip Čović of FMP and Brandon Jefferson of Union Olimpija are undisputed leaders of their teams and they like to shoot from distance besides playmaking as well. Which one will be the better one during this clash?
Head to head in regional league: In total 9:7; In Belgrade 6:1.
