As the 2016/17 ABA League regular season has come to the end, we can now take a look at the overall team stats from the previous 26 rounds. Do you who has the highest numbers?
Obviously, Crvena zvezda mts, as the 1st placed team from the regular season, lead the most categories. For the beginning, the red & white squad have collected the most index points in the 2016/17 season - 2,643, which is 101.65 index points per match. Zvezda also had the most defensive rebounds - 641, the most assists - 573 and the most steals - 245.
On top of that, Crvena zvezda mts had the best defense in the 2016/17 regular season, as they conceded 1,762 points in 26 rounds. That is 67.8 points per match.
But, Crvena zvezda mts did not have the best offense according to the numbers. That award went to Cedevita, who made the most number of points in the 2016/17 ABA League regular season. The orange crew scored 2,323 points in the previous 26 rounds, which is 89.35 per match.
The next team who marked the regular season is Mega Leks. The boys from Sremska Mitrovica have collected the most number of rebounds - 867, including the most number of offensive rebounds - 289.
It is also important to mention Mornar whose players made the most blocks in the previous 26 rounds - 100. And it was only their debut season in ABA League!
Finally, Cedevita had the best 3-point percentage - 39,24% and the best free-throw percentage - 78%, while Crvena zvezda mts had the best 2-point percentage - 57,14%.
And for the end, the category that everyone wants to avoid being the best in - turnovers. MZT Skopje Aerodrom had the most of them - 408.
