2017/18 ABA League Teams - Partizan NIS

With 6 regional titles in their cupboard, Partizan NIS are still the most successful team in the ABA League. However, the last time they clinched the regional championship was 4 years ago and this famous club is just not used to wait for so long.

Still, this summer Partizan NIS have started a new chapter in their history. They started an ambitious long-term project, which, they believe, can bring the club back to the very top of ABA League.

The man in charge of this project is famous basketball coach Miroslav Nikolić, who accepted to lead the team in the years to come. Some older basketball fans remember that Nikolić coached the black & whites from 1996 to 1998 and that he has won one national title along the way. Now, he will try to bring more trophies to the club's cupboard.

As far as roster is concerned, Partizan NIS have done a great job by keeping two important players Vanja Marinković and Mihajlo Andrić, as well as two big talents - Nikola Tanasković and Slobodan Jovanović. Everyone are waiting for the final decision of club legend Novica Veličković, and it seems very likely that he will also extend contract with Partizan NIS.

So far, Partizan NIS have signed 7 newcomers including American college star Nigel Williams-Goss, Australian hot prospect Thomas Wilson, then Obrad Tomić, Aleksandar Aranitović, Andreja Stevanović, Strahinja Gavrilović and Tadija Tadić.

It is already obvious that Partizan NIS will have a very young and talented group of players, who can benefit a lot by working with famous coach Miroslav Nikolić. Over the time, this team can only get better...
