National Cups: Friday Recap

Only 2 ABA League teams suffered early elimination in the national cups that are being played all around the region.

Let’s start with Croatia, where we know which two teams will be fighting for trophy. Those are Cedevita and Cibona! Cedevita outplayed Zabok after a tough battle in the semis, while Cibona defeated the tournament hosts Zadar thanks to brilliant performance of Luka Žorić who finished the match with 30 points and 14 rebounds.

There will be an ABA League clash in the Montenegrin National Cup Final as well – Mornar vs. Budućnost VOLI! Derek Needham scored 33 points and helped Mornar beat Sutjeska, while Budućnost VOLI showed their power in the clash against Lovćen 1947.

Igokea will once again play in the Bosnia & Herzegovina National Cup Final as they defeated Zrinjski in the semis. Igokea will fight for the trophy against the competition hosts Kakanj.

There was a surprising outcome of the Slovenian National Cup semi-finals, as Šenčur defeated Krka, while Sixt Primorska prevailed over Petrol Olimpija!

In Serbia all 4 ABA League teams have qualified for the semi-finals. FMP and Crvena zvezda mts did it on Thursday, while this Friday evening Mega Bemax and Partizan NIS had no troubles defeating their opponents. Mega Bemax were better than Dynamic VIP PAY, while Partizan NIS outplayed Zlatibor.

Finally, MZT Skopje Aerodrom have easily defeated Feni Industri in the quarter-finals of the Macedonian National Cup. MZT will face Blakotehna in the tournament semis.
