EC: Partizan qualified for Top 16, Zvezda also victorious

In the last round of the EuroCup Regular Season, Crvena zvezda mts have beaten Galatasaray on the road in Istanbul and Partizan NIS have beaten Turk Telekom in Belgrade, which qualified them for the Top 16 stage. On the other hand, Mornar have suffered a road defeat by Rytas in Vilnius.

Partizan NIS fans are celebrating their team’s win over Turk Telekom at home court of the Aleksandar Nikolić Sports Hall, which was enough for them to qualify for the Top 16 stage of the competition. This is the fourth win of the black and white this season in the EuroCup. The black and white have demonstrated convincing performance, as they were determined to accomplish their goal of qualifying for the next stage and celebrated an 87:72 win in the end. Rade Zagorac had 18 points for Partizan NIS, while Đorđe Gagić had 13.

On the road in Istanbul, Crvena zvezda mts have faced Galatasaray and have finished their EuroCup regular season with a victory, their sixth of the European season. The red and white have been in front for the majority of the game and have fully deservedly grabbed a pair of points. They led by 7 points at halftime and went on in the second one to confirm their supremacy and celebrate a 100:83 win. Billy Baron was the top scorer of the Belgrade squad with 20 points and Joe Ragland followed im with 18.

In Vilnius, Mornar have faced Rytas in their last EuroCup game of the season and have suffered a tight defeat with the score of 71:67. Mornar were in front by 3 points after 3 quarters, but the hosts managed to turn the game around in the last period of the game. Therefore, Mornar ended their EuroCup campaign with two triumphs in 10 games. Nemanja Vranješ was the top scorer of Mornar with 13 points, while Uroš Luković and Đorđe Drenovac followed him with 12 points apiece.

A day before, Cedevita were defeated by Tofas.

In the EuroCup Top 16, Partizan NIS will be competing in Group E together with AS Monaco, ALBA Berlin and Rytas. In Group G, Crvena zvezda mts will be competing against Valencia, Unicaja and Limoges CSP. In Group H, Cedevita will be competing against Unics, MoraBanc Andorra and Zenit St.Petersburg.
