The table above separates the ABA League’s 10 most efficient scorers in points per possession into 3 categories based on the number of possessions they have used per game so far this season. The maximums and minimums of the three ranges were set to separate nearly the same number of players into each range.

Range 1: High Volume Scorers

Dragan Apić of FMP remains on a remarkable pace leading the ABA League in not only possessions per game, but also points per possession. Shooting 73% finishing around the rim, Apić has been on an unprecedented offensive pace drawing fouls in bunches creating for himself or finishing with great consistency playing off the ball.

Up until his move to Budućnost VOLI, Goga Bitadze led the ABA League in possessions per game moving behind Apić after a very efficient, but lower usage outing in his Round 12 debut for the EuroLeague club. The reigning champions are also integrating James Bell, who was Apić’s closest competition to be the league’s most efficient player. It will be interesting to see what both of those additions mean to the club’s fortunes both in the ABA League and in Europe’s top competition.

Tomislav Zubčić of Igokea, Zadar’s Luka Božić, and Miha Lapornik of Petrol Olimpija were all ranked in the top-10 in points per possession at the one-quarter of the way through the season and have not fallen too far from their early pace.

Range 2: Mid-Level Scorers

Latavious Williams has given Igokea a nice complement to Zubčić emerging as one of the league’s most efficient players and top finishers shooting 83% around the rim. He figures to be key to the team’s fortunes moving forever.

Antabia Waller and Uroš Luković are only the fourth and fifth highest usage players for Mornar Bar this season, but they are a major reason why the team ranks 4th in the ABA League in points per possession providing a valuable inside-outside punch. Waller has shot an eFG% of 85% in transition and Luković has ranked among the league’s most efficient roll men.

Crvena zvezda mts is atop the ABA League standings though none of their players use over 12 possessions per game. Three of their players appear on the middle section of the list above as they have many roleplayers who can help their drive their efficiency on any given night.

Range 3: Small-Role Scorers

Suad Šehović of Buducnost VOLI remains the ABA League’s most efficient scorer due to his three-point shooting accuracy and how few shots inside of the arc he has attempted while Igor Marić has played a similar role for Cibona.

Both Cedevita and Budućnost have three very efficient low usage players and currently rank first and second in overall scoring efficiency. Few teams boast the same quality of depth as the teams currently sitting second and third in the standings.
