2019/20 ABA League teams – Mornar

The city of Bar has never been this excited about the ABA League. At every corner you can hear people talking about the following season and trying to agree on which summer transfer was the best for their local club Mornar.    

This basketball euphoria that has spread over the city is something that was expected. Because, Mornar might have formed the strongest team in the club’s history!

The head coach is still Mihailo Pavićević. He was born in Bar and has done so many great things for his local club over the years together with his brother Đorđije Pavićević, who is the current club president. Two of them have indeed worked very hard during the summer, trying to build a strong team for the next season. And looking down at the paper, it seems that they have done quite a good job.

Mornar have kept 8 players from the last season including Nemanja Vranješ, Marko Mugoša, Antabia Waller, Ivan Jelenić, Uroš Luković, Vukota Pavić, Radoje Vujošević and Lazar Pavićević. At the same time, some pretty big names have joined the team.

Derek Needham and Brandis Raley-Ross, two local heroes who guided Mornar toward the national title in 2018, have returned to the club. Montenegrin internationals Milko Bjelica and Sead Šehović also arrived in Bar this summer, as well as one of the top ABA League scorers from the past season Jacob Pullen. Finally, the last two signings this summer were Damir Markota and Mirza Begić, two very experienced players who have played for some top-class teams in their pro careers.

This Mornar can definitely do big things in the 2019/20 ABA League, so now you see why the people of Bar are eagerly anticipating the start of the new season.
