Are you interested in the ABA League all-time records? Check out the following article and find out which major stats changes occurred during the last weekend.

The World of Stats

Jurij Macura (Koper Primorska) put on a double double performance last weekend in the match against Crvena zvezda mts as he made 17 points and 17 rebounds . That is quite an achievement as only 39 times in the history of ABA League we have seen some player make 17+ rebounds in one match. The last time someone grabbed 17+ rebounds in one match happened on March 6, 2017 in the match between Budućnost VOLI and MZT Skopje Aerodrom when former Budućnost VOLI player Boris Savović made 17 rebounds.

Corey Walden (Crvena zvezda mts) was one again perfect from the free-throw line. He scored 15 points in the clash against Koper Primorska, while he was 10/10 from the FT line in this match. Interesting enough, Corey Walden has not missed a single free throw so far in the 2020/21 ABA League regular season. He had 30 attempts and he made all 30 of them.

Rok Stipčević (Krka) made 2 three-pointers last weekend against Krka and has therefore reached a total number of 223 three-pointers made in his ABA career stats. Stipčević  is now all alone at the 19th place on the ABA league All-Time Three-Pointers Made list as he surpassed Filip Krušlin (221), while ne needs 8 more three-pointers to score to reach Miljan Pavković (231) who is currently holding the 18th spot.

Speaking about three-pointers we should mention Ognjen Dobrić (Crvena zvezda mts) who scored 4 three-pointers in the away match against Koper Primorska. The second three-pointer out of those 4 was his 100th in ABA League.

Damir Markota (Cibona) grabbed 3 defensive rebounds in the match against Split and he now has a total number of 565 defensive rebounds in his ABA career stats. Markota has therefore moved up to the 15th place on the ABA League All-Time Defensive Rebounds list as he surpassed Marton Bader (564) and Predrag Samardžiski (564). He needs 4 more defensive rebounds to tie with Vuk Radivojević (569) at the 14th place.

Cibona squad made 21 offensive rebounds in the match against Split. Only 28 times in ABA League history some team has made 20+ offensive rebounds in one game, while the last time it happened on January 12, 2019 when Igokea team made21  offensive rebounds in the home match against Crvena zvezda mts.

After making 2 offensive rebounds last weekend, Uroš Luković (Mornar) is now standing all alone at the 10th place on the ABA League All-Time Offensive Rebounds list. Luković now has a total number of 296 offensive rebounds, while he needs 9 more to reach Vladan Vukosavljević (305) at the 9th place.

Novica Veličković (Partizan NIS) has also made it to the Top 10 on one ABA League All-Time list. Veličković made 1 rebound in the match against Zadar which was enough for him to surpass Ivan Ramljak (916) on the ABA League All-Time Rebounds list. Veličković now holds the 10th place on this list with a total number of 917 rebounds.

Nemanja Gordić (Partizan NIS) has made progress on the ABA League All-Time Steals list. Gordić is now holding the 12th place on this list with a total number of 247 steals, while he might improve his position once again quite soon as he needs 2 more steals to reach 11th placed Sašo Ožbolt (249) and 10 more steals to reach 10th placed Branko Lazić (257).

Special mention

On November 8, 2003 in Podgorica, Budućnost VOLI and Split played the highest-scoring game in ABA League history. After a thrilling triple-overtime match, Budućnost VOLI defeated Split by 118:116. One more record has been set in this match and that is 47 field-goals made by Split players.
