ABA League Round 10, Sunday, 13 December 2020:
Where? SC Morača, Podgorica
When? 19:00
Story of the game: Two fierce local rivals are about to face each other in this week’s ABA League match of the round. It’s Budućnost VOLI vs. Mornar!
Both sides are having a fantastic season so far.
Budućnost VOLI are the only undefeated team in the league! They have won all of their 6 games so far in the 2020/21 ABA League campaign, including the ones against Partizan NIS and Crvena zvezda mts, both on the road. Meanwhile, Budućnost VOLI have also qualified for the 2020/21 EuroCup Top 16 stage.
At the same time, Mornar have suffered just one single defeat so far in this season and their current score is 7-1. Last weekend, the boys from Bar scored a huge home win against Partizan NIS and at this moment only two teams are in front of them on the ABA League standings. On top of that, Mornar are very close to clinch their spot in the 2020/21 EuroCup regular season as well, which would be a historic success for this club.
Is also worth mentioning that these two teams have already faced each other once in this season as they are competing in the same group of the EuroCup regular season. In that match, which was played in Bar, Mornar beat Budućnost VOLI in overtime – 85:82.
Mornar have never defeated Budućnost VOLI in Podgorica in ABA League. So far they have played 4 games in the Montenegrin capital and Budućnost VOLI triumphed in all those 4 games.
Match-up in focus: It is very hard to pick just one duel for this match, but let’s say that it will be very interesting to watch the clash of two amazing scorers – Nikola Ivanović (Budućnost VOLI) on one side and Jacob Pullen (Mornar) on the other. Each of them is the top scorer of his team at this moment.
Head to head in the regional league: In total 6:2; In Podgorica 4:0.
