EC: Cedevita Olimpija and Partizan NIS victorious

Cedevita Olimpija and Partizan NIS have achieved new victories in the EuroCup, by beating JL Bourg and Lokomotiv Kuban, respectively. On the other side, Budućnost VOLI were defeated by Virtus Segafredo of Bologna and Mornar have suffered a defeat by Unics of Kazan.

Cedevita Olimpija have made one more step towards reaching the EuroCup Playoffs, as they now need only one victory in order to clich their Top 8 position. They have prevailed over JL Bourg on the road in France, with the final score of 77:64, after cracking the resistance by the hosts in the final quarter, which they have won by 9 points. In the end, Jaka Blažič and Rion Brown were the most efficient at the side of the Dragons, as they have both scored 15 points.

Partizan NIS have achieved a big EuroCup home court win over Lokomotiv Kuban in Belgrade after a major comeback. The Russian squad have led by 13 points at halftime (35:48), but the black and white did not give up and turned the game completely upside-down. In the end, after a thrilling finish, they have celebrated a 71:69 win. Rashawn Thomas led the way in scoring for Partizan NIS with 23 points, while Ognjen Jaramaz added 11 to Partizan NIS stats.

Budućnost VOLI were defeated at home in Morača Sports Hall by first-placed team in Group G Virtus Segafredo of Bologna. The hosts started the game well and were up by 2 points after the first quarter, but the visitors managed to turn it completely upside-down by halftime, when they got in front by 6 (47:53). In the second half, the Italians managed to furtherly increase their advantage and they won the game with the final score of 99:89. For Budućnost VOLI Justin Cobbs led the way in scoring by putting in 17 points, while Melvin Ejim and Willie Reed had 16 points apiece.

Mornar, without Jacob Pullen and Derek Needham on their roster, have suffered a road defeat in Kazan, as the home Unics side have been the better of the two squads all game long. The Russians have been up by 10 points after the opening quarter and by 20 at halftime. In the second half, they managed to just cruise towards the win in the end with the score of 86:61. For Mornar Nemanja Gordić led the way in scoring with 14 points on his record, while newcomer Johnny Hamilton added 12.
