Game recap: Split have prevailed over Spars in the decisive third game of the Qualifying series for the ABA League 2021/22 season and have secured themselves a spot in the strongest division of the regional basketball competition for the following season as well. The yellow squad of Dalmatia have come up with a big comeback in the Qualifiers, as they have been defeated in Game 1 at home court, only to come up with two consecutive wins afterwards, on the road in Sarajevo and at home in Split again.
Key moments: Split have entered the game better than Spars and have been ahead by 3 points (19:16) already after the opening quarter. However, the true decisive moments have arrived at the beginning of the second quarter, as Split have come up with a 12:0 run between the 11th and 15th minutes of the game, that put them up by 17 points (35:18). That’s when it became clear, that a comeback would be extremely tough to achieve for Spars. As it turned out later in the game – it was impossible.
Man of the match: Tonight it became evident how important experience is. In the decisive game of the qualifiers, Mateo Kedžo has demonstrated one of his best performances and took his team to the win with 13 points, 3 rebounds 1 steal and a game-high valuation of 17. He is our man of the match!
Can’t trick the stats: Split have simply dominated the paint with 34 rebounds in comparison to only 26 of Spars. That’s what has been crucial for the game’s outcome!
