Presenting the 2021/22 ABA League teams – Borac
The red-and whites return for their 2nd consecutive season in the top flight of the regional basketball.
Borac are ready to start their 2nd consecutive ABA League campaign, which will also be their 2nd ever season in the top flight of the regional basketball. The Čačak crew had a pretty decent ABA League debut last season as they scored some pretty big wins along the way, including the ones against former European champions Partizan NIS and Split.
The moment they secured their ABA League status for the 2021/22 season, the red-and whites started creating the team that might achieve even better results than the year before. Probably the most important thing for this team is that club legend and current head coach Marko Marinović has remained in Čačak. Marinović has been doing a fantastic job with his home town team since he became Borac head coach and this amazing story will get another chapter in the 2021/22 season.
Still, in the following year, Marinović will have a significantly different roster to work with, as Borac have made numerous changes in their first team. Nenad Nerandžić, Nikola Kočović, Bryce Jones, Dušan Miletić, Derrick Thornton, Anthony Smith, Ivan Gavrilović and Stevan Karapandžić have all left the team this summer, so the team management had to work hard to find suitable replacements.
And, at least according to the results in the preseason, they have managed to do it. Borac have so far acquired Lautaro Lopez (Inter Bratislava), Marko Pecarski (FMP), Hunter Hale (Nelson Giants), Bojan Tomašević (Dynamic VIP PAY) and Ivan Marinković (Cedevita Olimpija), while five players from the last-season team have remained in the red-and-white squad, including Duda Sanadze, Uroš Čarapić, Radovan Đoković, Aleksa Novaković and Nemanja Todorović.
And these boys have so far won every single preseason game for Borac! Five games and five wins for this new Čačak crew!
That is why the passionate basketball fans from this town can hardly wait to see their team officially begin the 2021/22 ABA League journey.
