Masters of Game 5

Crvena zvezda mts have won their previous 3 championships in the most dramatic fashion as they clinched the title after beating their rivals in Game 5.

The Belgrade powerhouse had a home-court advantage in all of those three Finals, so each time they had a privilege to play Game 5 in their own gym.

In the 2018/19 season, Crvena zvezda mts defeated Budućnost VOLI in Game 5 in Belgrade by 97:54 to bring the regional trophy back to their possession. KC Rivers led the red-and-whites toward the big win with 21 points, while Dejan Davidovac added 11 points for the winning side.

Two years later, in the 2020/21 regional league campaign, Crvena zvezda mts and Budućnost VOLI once again faced each other in the battle for the trophy and once again the red-and-whites prevailed in decisive Game 5 in Belgrade – 67:60. Landry Nnoko, who was the MVP of the 2021 Playoffs, scored 17 points for Crvena zvezda mts in Game 5, while Jordan Lloyd scored 15 points, including the clutch 3-pointer in the final minute.

And this season, Crvena zvezda mts beat their arch rivals Partizan NIS after winning Game 5 of the Finals – 80:77. Dejan Davidovac once again stepped up for the red-and-whites in key moment as he scored 15 points in Game 5, while Nathan Wolters made 12 points, including the key 3-pointer late in the 4^th quarter.    

These were the only three Finals in regional league history that were decided in Game 5, while only three players participated in each of those three Finals. Those are Crvena zvezda mts players Branko Lazić, Ognjen Dobrić and Dejan Davidovac.
