2023 WC Qualifiers: Slovenia beat Croatia, Serbia defeated in Riga

In Thursday’s 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, Slovenia have prevailed over Croatia, while Serbia suffered a defeat by Latvia.

In the clash of the two AdmiralBet ABA League countries, Slovenia have been hosting Serbia at home in their Stožice Arena in Ljubljana and in the end, the clash resulted in a convincing win by the hosts. The outcome of the game has been decided in the opening quarter, in which Slovenia went up by 25 points already and afterwards managed to control the flow of the game until its end, when the final score was 97:69. For Slovenia, Luka Dončić led the way in scoring with 21 points, while Goran Dragić added 19. For Croatia Mario Hezonja scored 22 points and Ivica Zubac 14.

On the road in Riga, Serbia have faced Latvia and after being up by 6 points at halftime, their performance has fallen in the second half, leading to their defeat in the end with the score of 66:59. For Serbia, Partizan NIS player Aleksa Avramović led the way in scoring with 16 points, while Vanja Marinković added 12.
