AdmiralBet ABA League Round 4, Monday, 17 October 2022:
Where? FMP Sports Hall, Belgrade
When? 21:00
Story of the game: FMP Meridian and Split will face each other in Belgrade on Monday evening in Round 3 of the 2022/23 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season.
FMP Meridian made a perfect start of the new season as they triumphed in both of the previous two games. The Panthers firstly defeated Mega MIS at home court by 90:76, while then they prevailed over Borac Mozzart on the road in one of the most thrilling games so far in the 2022/23 regional championship – 84:83.
At the same time, Split are in a completely opposite situation as they are heading toward this game without a single win on their season record. The Yellow crew suffered two heavy defeats in the opening two rounds, but we should be fair and say that they played against some of the best teams in the league. Split were defeated by Budućnost VOLI and Cedevita Olimpija.
It is also important to mention that Split have never defeated FMP Meridian on the road. The two sides have met 7 times in Belgrade so far in the regional league and the Panthers have triumphed in all 7 games.
Match-up in focus: Trent Frazier is someone who still hasn’t showed his true face in this season. FMP Meridian’s point guard was one of the team’s best players during the preseason and it is only a matter of time when he will start making some real noise in the 2022/23 championship. Meanwhile, Split have the last-season AdmiralBet ABA League Top Scorer in their ranks as Shannon Shorter is still wearing yellow-and-black and he will lead his team’s offense on Monday evening.
Head-to-head in the regional league: In total 10:4; In Belgrade 7:0.
