Croatia scored an important win against Switzerland on the road that keeps them in the race for the top spot in Group E of the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket Pre-Qualifiers.
The Croatian team used their amazing defensive performance in the 2nd half to prevail in this match as they let Swiss side score just 18 points in total in the final 20 minutes.
With just one round left to be played in this stage, Croatia have the same overall score as Poland (4-1), and in order to claim the top spot, Croatia will need to beat Austria at home next Sunday and to hope that Poland will lose their road game against Switzerland.
Meanwhile, North Macedonia have suffered their first defeat in this stage of the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket Pre-Qualifiers as they lost the away game against Slovakia.
Still, North Macedonia have one more “match-point” to seal the top spot in Group D as in the final round they need to beat Norway on the road to definitely clinch the first place and qualify to the next stage.
