Slovenia were defeated by Lithuania in the Classification Games 5-8 at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
After a disappointing defeat against Canada in the quarter-finals, Slovenian team suffered another defeat at the 2023 FIBA World Cup as they lost the match against Lithuania in the Classification Games 5-8.
Slovenia were trailing by 12 points already after the first quarter and no matter how hard they tried in the rest of the match to make a comeback, Lithuania were always there to prevent it with couple of big 3-pointers. Eventually, when the Lithuanian team increased the gap to 21 points at the start of the 4th quarter, it was clear that Slovenia would leave the court today as the losing side.
Slovenia will therefore play against Italy on Saturday in the match for the 7th place.
