Presenting 2023 ABA Super Cup teams: Mega MIS

Mega MIS will once again be the youngest team in the league, but considering how many top prospects they have in the roster do not be surprised if this squad once again reach the regional league Playoffs.

Every single summer we say that Mega MIS’ squad looks younger than ever and we have to repeat that this year. Simply, if you take a quick look at the team’s roster you will see that there is only one single player who was born before 2001.

Yet, age does not matter, if your players have quality. And, there is definitely a lot of quality in this year’s Mega MIS roster.

Let’s firstly say that the club kept their head coach Marko Barać who made pretty good results with the Pink troops in his first season with the club as he led Mega MIS toward the 2022/23 AdmiralBet ABA League Playoffs.

He will have 6 players from the last-season roster still in the team, including the 2022/23 AdmiralBet ABA League Top Prospect Nikola Đurišić and a gold medalist from this year’s FIBA EuroBasket Bogoljub Marković, then Oleksandr Kobzystyi, Petar Kovačević, Luka Paunović and the youngest of them all Aleksa Milenković.

Mega MIS added 9 new players to this roster. The Pink troops brought in three players from OKK Beograd - Andrija Jelavić, Timotej Malovec and Stefan Miljenović, then they signed Omercan Ilyasoglu from Besiktas and Nemanja Popović from Vojvodina, while the oldest player in this new squad Uroš Plavšić came from the University of Tennessee.

One of the biggest roster additions for the 2023/24 season is definitely Nikola Topić who came on a season-long loan from Crvena zvezda Meridianbet. Topić was part of the U18 Serbian national team that won the U18 FIBA EuroBasket 2023, while he was named the MVP of that tournament.

Finally, Mega MIS also promoted two players from their youth team - Mihailo Milutinović and Andrej Mušicki.

Mega MIS have played 6 games so far in the ongoing preseason and they have won 3 of them. The players are slowly getting used to each other and the Pink troops might be the dark horse of the 2023 ABA Super Cup.
