Presenting 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League teams: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet

The red-and-whites want to return to the regional league throne and therefore they have created a very strong team for the upcoming season.

After winning three consecutive championships, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet lost the AdmiralBet ABA League title last season as they were defeated by their arch rivals Partizan Mozzart Bet in the Finals. And, that might be the reason why the Belgrade team made so many changes in their roster over the summer.

But, before we start talking about all the new names in this red-and-white squad, let’s firstly remind you that Duško Ivanović will still be leading the team from the bench. One of the best basketball coaches in Europe will therefore continue his work with the Belgrade giant, which is definitely a huge thing for the club.

Ivanović has decided to keep several players from the last-season roster, including captain Branko Lazić, then Nemanja Nedović, Luka Mitrović, Stefan Lazarević, Ognjen Kuzmić and Dalibor Ilić.

All the other players in the roster are the newcomers… And, we can say that Crvena zvezda Meridianbet have been quite busy on the transfer market over the summer as 10 new players joined the team for the 2023/24 season.

We must start with one of the best European point guards in the last decade Miloš Teodosić who has finally fulfilled his childhood dream of joining Crvena zvezda Meridianbet. Some other familiar faces have signed for the Belgrade team this summer as Dejan Davidovac came back to the club after a year spent abroad, while Nemanja Bjelica has returned to the club after 13 long years.

The other seven newcomers are also top-class players, including Marko Simonović, Adam Hanga, Mike Tobey, Joel Bolomboy, Rokas Giedraitis, Shabazz Napier and Yago dos Santos.

We can all agree that, together, this new group of players looks like a very, very strong team and they will be aiming to win all trophies in the upcoming season.

The Belgrade giant played 9 games in the preseason against some of the best teams in Europe and their score was 5-4. Yet, the first real test for Crvena zvezda Meridianbet is coming this weekend in Laktaši against Igokea m:tel in the opening round of the new AdmiralBet ABA League season and we are all eager to see this new red-and-white squad in action.
