Story of the game: SC Derby will host Zadar this Monday evening in Round 2 of the 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season.
SC Derby are living their dream at the start of the season. The Students have firstly won the 2023 ABA Super Cup against all odds, while after that they opened the 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League campaign with a huge road win in Split. Now, the Podgorica side want to continue with their impressive streak of results and keep their perfect score in the clash against Zadar.
On the other side, Zadar had some good displays at the 2023 ABA Super Cup which they finished at the 6th place, yet they opened the new AdmiralBet ABA League with a heavy defeat in Podgorica against Budućnost VOLI. The boys coached by Danijel Jusup are now returning to the Montenegrin capital to try making much better result than last weekend as they hope to leave the city with their first win of the season.
Match-up in focus: Aubrey Dawkins was sensational at the 2023 ABA Super Cup tournament at which he led his team toward the historic trophy. Now, Dawkins will face the last season's MVP Luka Božić who has stayed in Zadar and who has already showed in the opening round that he will once again be among the top candidates for winning the MVP award at the end of the 2023/24 regular season.
