EL: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet suffer narrow defeat in Kaunas

Crvena zvezda Meridianbet were defeated by Zalgiris Kaunas on the road in Round 2 of the 2023/24 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague  regular season.

The Belgrade side will definitely be disappointed with the way they played the 4^th quarter as they were very close to stun the Lithuanian giant in packed arena in Kaunas. Zvezda were up by 63:54, with 7 minutes until the end, but then Zalgiris made the 13:0 run to take over the lead – 67:63.

The Belgrade team reduced the gap to one point – 67:66, but then Zalgiris responded with 5 consecutive points to get back to the safe distance – 72:66.

In the rest of the game, Crvena zvezda Meridianbet have managed to once again get very close to their rivals as they reduced the deficit to just two points – 74:72, however Zalgiris were ready to strike back one more time and with 4 points in row they definitely sealed their win tonight – 78:72.

Crvena zvezda Meridianbet now have the overall score of 1-1, while next week they will firstly host AS Monaco, while then they will play against Segafredo Virtus on the road.
