Budućnost VOLI stay perfect as they survive the thriller vs. Mega MIS
Budućnost VOLI have scored their 5th consecutive win in the 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season as they defeated Mega MIS in a thrilling game in Podgorica.

Game recap: Budućnost VOLI have scored their 5th consecutive win in the 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season as they defeated Mega MIS in a thrilling game in Podgorica.
The blue-and-whites had a double-digit lead at the halftime, however the 2nd half was everything but easy for the home team as they had to give their absolute best in the 4th quarter to clinch the win. At the end, Budućnost VOLI also had a bit of luck to keep their lead as Mega MIS’ best player in this season Nikola Topić missed a 3-pointer in the final moments of the game that would have put the visiting side in front.
Budućnost VOLI have therefore opened the season with a 5-0 score and they are currently sitting at the top of the table. On the other side, Mega MIS were very close to stun another regional giant, yet they lost one more thrilling game and they currently have the overall score of 2-3.
Key moments: With just 45 seconds before the end of the game, at the score 71:70 for the home team, Mega MIS player Stefan Miljenović made a steal and then got fouled, so he had two free throws and a chance to put his team in front. However, Miljenović only tied the score at 71:71, as he missed one of his two free throws.
On the other side of the court, Budućnost VOLI point guard McKinley Wright IV got fouled while attempting a lay-up. Wright was perfect from the free throw line to give a 2-point lead to the Podgorica side – 73:71, just 24 seconds before the end.
Mega MIS had the last-ball possession in this match and a chance to stun another favorite. Their 18-year-old wonderkid Nikola Topić took the ball, he pulled up from behind the arc in the final seconds of the match, however he missed the 3-pointer and the score remained 73:71 for Budućnost VOLI.
Man of the match: Yoan Makoundou put on a monster double-double performance this evening as he scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds! Budućnost VOLI power forward had an overall index rating of 27.
Can’t trick the stats: Mega MIS had lot of problems with making free throws tonight. The visitors were 13/23 from the free throw line, while some of those missed shots came in the final moments of the game.
