Story of the game: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet will host their old rivals Cibona this Sunday evening in Štark Arena, Belgrade in Round 10 of the 2023/24 AdmiralBet ABA League regular season.
The red-and-whites have entered this round as the top placed team on the standings and with 4 wins in a row in the regional championship, so the only goal for the Belgrade giant at the moment is to keep that winning streak going. Crvena zvezda Meridianbet have also scored a pretty big win in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Friday evening which has additionally boosted the team confidence for this weekend.
Cibona have had some ups and downs in the ongoing season, but we should mention that before the last weekend the Wolves were on a 3-game winning streak in the AdmiralBet ABA League. In the previous round that streak came to an end as Cibona lost the home game against Mega MIS, while now they hope that they might bounce back immediately and stun Crvena zvezda Meridianbet like they did last season when they defeated the red-and-whites in Zagreb.
The only problem for Cibona might be that the upcoming match will be played in Belgrade as the Wolves haven’t defeated Crvena zvezda Meridianbet on the road since the 2014 ABA Playoffs, when the Zagreb side prevailed in the semi-finals in Štark Arena.
