Jan Rebec wins a thriller against Borac WWIN for Zlatibor Gold Gondola

In the opening game of the Novi Sad Regular Season Tournament, Zlatibor Gold Gondola have outgunned Borac WWIN, meaning they remain at the top of the NLB ABA League 2 standings after 8 rounds of the Regular Season.

The Čajetina squad are now on a 7:1 record, meaning that no team will be able to get in front of them after 8 rounds and that only Spartak Office Shoes and Široki TT Kabeli will have a chance to be tied with them after 8 rounds. On the other side, Borac WWIN are now on a 3:5 record, which means that they will be placed at the edge of the Playoffs Zone after 8 rounds and that they will need to keep struggling in order to find themselves in the Top 8 when the Regular Season ends.

At halftime, the difference between the two squads was only 2 points (40:42), but Zlatibor Gold Gondola have afterwards dominated the third quarter and have already created themselves a 15-point advantage (51:66) with a minute and a half to go in the third. Borac WWIN did fight back and managed to cut the gap to single-digits in the final quarter, even managed to take the lead late in the game.

The game went into a thrilling ending, where the win could have gone either way, but Jan Rebec stepped up for Zlatibor Gold Gondola and made a successful lay-up in the final second of the game to seal the win for his team.
