Game recap: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet has taken a 2-0 series lead in the 2024 AdmiralBet ABA League finals after they successfully defended their home court and beat Partizan Mozzart Bet.
The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair, neither team could pull away. Partizan Mozzart Bet would end up holding a minimal 2-point lead after the first 10 minutes. In the second quarter, Ioannis Sfairopoulos' squad went on an 8:1 run to take an 8-point advantage, but Partizan Mozzart Bet did not let that affect them as they managed to close out the first half with a big 10:2 run to head into the halftime break all tied up.
The third quarter was close until Crvena zvezda Meridianbet started to pull away with the advantage, the red-and-whites held a 9-point lead following an 8:3 run. Like in the second quarter, Partizan Mozzart Bet quickly clawed their way back into the game not letting the hosts run away with the lead after a 7:2 run cutting the deficit to just 4 heading into the final quarter. In the final quarter Crvena zvezda Meridianbet showed to be the better team in the final quarter, on the back of Miloš Teodosić they managed to pull away with the lead to take a 2-0 series advantage as the series heads to Belgrade Arena.
Key Moments: It was a close game throughout most of the game but Crvena zvezda Meridianbet was the better team in the final quarter, they had a crucial 9:2 in the early moments of the fourth quarter that would give them a significant advantage as the game winds down. Ioannis Sfairopoulos' team held on to the lead until the end of the game to secure a 2-0 series lead.
Man of the match: Nemanja Nedović had a great game, especially in the first half where he could not miss. Nedović finished the night with 21 points while shooting 7/8 from 2-point range to go along with 2 rebounds and 1 steal.
