Split strengthened their frontcourt with Barret Benson

The Yellow crew has a new center. Split announced that they have signed a contract with 26-year-old American big man Barret Benson.

Benson spent the previous two seasons in Poland where he played for PGE Spójnia Stargard and Pszczolka Start Lublin and averaged nearly 14 points and 8 rebounds per game.

Before that, he played for Spartak Pleven, Rilski Sportist, Ylli Therande, Uni Baskets Paderborn and Dinamo Tbilisi.

"I am very excited to come to Split, while I can't wait to meet my new teammates and staff and start preparations for the upcoming season. I know we have a season full of challenges ahead of us and I'm looking forward to playing the games and getting the support of the fans of this historic club and city,” - said Benson, who will wear the yellow jersey with number 40.

Barret Benson, 26-godišnji američki centar visok 209 centimetara, novi je igrač Splita. Na Gripe stiže nakon dvije sezone u Poljskoj gdje je nosio dres Spojnie i Lublina, a imao je statistiku od gotovo 14 poena i 8 skokova po utakmici.

- Jako sam uzbuđen što dolazim u Split, jedva čekam upoznati svoje nove suigrače i stožer i početi pripreme za sezonu koja je pred nama.
