Five AdmiralBet ABA League teams played their prep games this Friday evening, while four of them scored wins.
Budućnost VOLI and Zadar have qualified for the Final of the friendly tournament in Široki. Budućnost VOLI prevailed over their AdmiralBet ABA League rivals Split by 86:84, with the newcomers Juwan Morgan and Rasheed Sulaimon playing the key role in the final minute of the game. Sulaimon scored the 3-pointer at the start of the last minute to put his team in front by four – 83:79, while after that Morgan made both free throws to keep the 4-point gap – 85:81.
Kenan Kamenjaš put on a double-double performance in Budućnost VOLI team with 15 points and 10 rebounds. On the other side, David Škara played another very good game for Split in the ongoing preseason as he scored 18 points for the Yellow side.
Zadar have made it to the Final after defeating the tournament hosts Široki TT Kabeli by 82:75. Lovro Mazalin was the top scorer of the winning side with 20 points, while Amar Gegić shined once again in his new team as he scored 19 points for Zadar.
Crvena zvezda Meridianbet defeated Lokomotiv Kuban by 86:76 to reach the 3rd place match at the VTB Super Cup. Ognjen Dobrić has played another good game since returning to the club this summer as he scored 20 points for the red-and-whites, while Uroš Plavšić once again used his minutes on court in the best possible way as he made 16 points for the Belgrade troops. Crvena zvezda Meridianbet will play against Zenit Saint Petersburg on Saturday in the 3rd place match.
Finally, Partizan Mozzart Bet put on quite a show at the Belgrade Fair Sports Hall as they defeated AEK Athens by 93:60 in front of packed stands. Tyrique Jones and Sterling Brown were the top scorers in the black-and-white team with 12 points.
Partizan Mozzart Bet will play their next prep game against Paris on Sunday evening, again in Belgrade.
