It’s time for the Dejan Jakara era in Krka.

Krka’s one and only goal in the following season is probably just to be better than in the previous one in which they finished at the last place on the standings.

Therefore, the club decided to make a fresh start with a new head coach at the helm, so the Novo mesto team appointed Dejan Jakara to lead this new project. Jakara has really made a name for himself as one of the most talented coaches in the region over the past few seasons. He reached the NLB ABA League 2 Final with Kansai Helios two years ago, while in the previous season he led SC Derby toward the AdmiralBet ABA League Playoffs.

Apart from having a new head coach, Krka also have also changed half of their roster for the following season.

The club has kept some of the leaders of the last-season team, like Jan Špan, Niko Bačvić, Miha Cerkvenik and Robert Jurković, while young Žak Smrekar has also remained in the roster.

Krka have so far made 6 signings this summer. Tibor Mirtič has arrived from Kansai Helios, Jakob Čebašek came from Minsk, while Jaka Klobučar has returned to the club after a two-year stint in Ilirija. Finally, the other three roster additions are the foreigners - Tayler Persons, Brady Skeens and Marc Garcia who are all about their AdmiralBet ABA League debut.

Krka might not be among the main favorites to win the league, but the club from Novo mesto has always been a tough opponent even to the strongest teams in the region. That’s why you should expect some thrilling games in Leon Štukelj Sports Hall in the 2024/25 campaign.
