The new season of the U19 ABA League Championship is just in front of us, with 16 teams entering the race for the precious trophy.
The 2024/25 U19 ABA League Championship regular season will be played from November 22 to November 24 in two host cities – Belgrade and Laktaši.
A total number of 16 teams will participate in the regular season and they will be divided into 4 different groups. Only the winners of each group will advance to the Semi-Finals.
The regular season will consist of 3 rounds, with each team facing each of their group rivals once.
Recall that U19 Mega MIS is defending the regional throne as the young Pink squad defeated U19 SC Derby in the last year’s Final.
It is interesting to mention that the entire Ideal Starting 5 of the last season’s U19 ABA League Championship has been getting minutes on court in the 2024/25 AdmiralBet ABA League campaign. Ognjen Stanković (Igokea m:tel), Borna Katanović (Cibona), David Mirković (SC Derby), Urban Kroflič (Mega MIS) and Bogoljub Marković (Mega MIS) have all had their roles so far in the top tier of the regional basketball, while young Mega MIS star Bogoljub Marković was even named the MVP of September & October in the AdmiralBet ABA League.
Of course, there is a long history of U19 ABA League Championship players growing into real regional basketball stars. It is enough just to write the names of the previous winners of the MVP award in the U19 ABA League Championship – Goga Bitadze, Roko Prkačin, Nikola Jović, Andrija Grbović, Nikola Đurišić, Bogoljub Marković...
For the end, we should also add that U19 Mega MIS have been quite dominant in this competition as the Pink squad have won 5 out of 6 championships so far. The only team to break U19 Mega MIS supremacy was U19 Cibona who won the title back in 2019.
All games will be broadcasted on the ABA League YouTube channel.
