Game recap: In the Round 17 opener of the AdmiralBet ABA League, Budućnost VOLI emerged victorious over Split with a final score of 48:83. 

In the first half, Split managed to stick around despite Budućnost VOLI controlling the lead for most of the first half. It was in the second half that Budućnost VOLI ran away with the game. Split had a meltdown following the halftime break, scoring just 18 points in the second half. Budućnost VOLI’s defense also played a crucial role, limiting Split’s scoring opportunities while forcing numerous turnovers. 

This win extends Budućnost VOLI's win streak to 8 games while Split will have to hope to get Veljko Mršić his first win as coach in round 18 against Crvena zvezda Meridianbet in Belgrade.

Key moments: Late in the first quarter and early in the second quarter, Budućnost VOLI went on a massive run that would set the tempo for the rest of the game. After Split got to an 18:13 lead in the first quarter, Andrej Žakelj's squad went on a massive 15:0 run to gain control of the game, while Split couldn't buy a bucket during that run. After this run, they went up by double-digits and they did not look back from there as they continued to grow their lead as the game progressed. 

Man of the match: It was a team win for Budućnost VOLI tonight, one player that stood out statistically was Đorđije Jovanović who finished the game with a double-double scoring 12 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the win. 

Can't trick the stats: Budućnost VOLI demonstrated superior performance shooting the ball tonight. They shot the ball effectively in the game, posting a shooting percentage of 58.8% from the field, including 65.6% on two-point attempts and 47.4% from three-point range. Split struggled significantly, shooting only 44.1% overall and 11.5% from three-point territory. Budućnost VOLI strong shooting was followed by strong rebounding efforts, claiming 41 rebounds compared to Split's 22.
