EL: Crvena zvezda Meridianbet defeated at home against Žalgiris

Crvena zvezda Meridianbet suffered an 80:86 home loss against Žalgiris Kaunas in their first game back since winning the Serbian National Cup.

The game was evenly matched in the first half, but Žalgiris ended the first period with a narrow lead of one point (23-22). By halftime, the hosts were down by one point (44-43), with Petrušev contributing 12 points and Bolomboy adding 10. Žalgiris pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the red-and-whites by 6 points. The visitors prevented Crvena zvezda Meridianbet from completing a comeback in the final quarter. 

Žalgiris improved to 13-14 and remains hopeful for a spot in the postseason, while Crvena zvezda Meridianbet stands at a solid 16-11.

Filip Petrušev led the losing side with 16 points, followed by Nemanja Nedović with 14.
