2024/25 AdmiralBet ABA League Round 23, Monday, 17 March 2025:
SPLIT - CIBONA
Where? Split Sports Hall, Split
When? 19:00
Story of the game: Their current position on the standings is not really the best, but both Split and Cibona have significantly improved their form recently, which promises another great match between these two old rivals.
Split ended their 6-game losing run two weeks ago when they defeated Borac Mozzart at home court, while last week they put on a very good performance against Spartak Office Shoes on the road, but they lost the match in a thrilling finish. Yet, despite that defeat it is quite clear that the Yellow troops are playing better and better every week and that they will be a tough nut to break for any team in the rest of the season.
On the other side, after going through a 10-game losing streak, Cibona have managed to bounce back on their feet as they won 2 of the last 4 games in the league. Last weekend, they scored a convincing win against Mornar-Barsko zlato at home and they now hope to score two consecutive wins for the first time in this season.
Match-up in focus: Shannon Shorter is definitely Split’s first option when we are talking about offense as the team captain is currently the 5th best scorer of the season with 16 points per game.
When Cibona’s offense is concerned, it will be quite interesting to see whether Ivan Perasović can continue where he left off last weekend when he scored 22 points and when he was shooting 7/7 from behind the arc.
Head-to-head score in the regional league: In total 7:18; In Split 4:8.
