2024/25 AdmiralBet ABA League Round 24, Monday, 24 March 2025:
SC DERBY - Split 102:87 (29:22, 19:15, 27:25, 27:27)
Game recap: SC Derby defeated Split at home court and tied the league's 2nd best all-time score for the most 3-pointers made in a single game by one team!
The Podgorica troops had the best shooting night in club’s history as they made 20 three-pointers out of 30 attempts to prevail in this match. Only two more teams in league’s history managed to score 20 three-pointers in a single game and those are Cibona and Crvena zvezda Meridianbet, while the all-time record is still in possession of Cedevita who scored 23 three-pointers in a single game.
SC Derby have therefore skipped Split on the 2024/25 AdmiralBet ABA League standings as the Podgorica side now have the overall score of 9-15 and they are sitting alone at the 11th place on the standings. Meanwhile, Split are sharing the 12th position with Borac Mozzart as both teams have the overall score of 8-16.
Key moments: While SC Derby have been in front during almost the entire game, Split managed to reduce the gap to 6 points – 78:72, with seven-and-a-half minutes before the end of the match. But, then Igor Drobnjak stepped up for the home team. Drobnjak scored 4 three-pointers in a row to single-handedly make a 12:6 run that brought SC Derby back at a double-digit lead – 90:78.
Man of the match: While Drobnjak was the hero of the home team in the 4th quarter, we also have to mention the performances of Erick Neal and Luka Bogavac. Neal made 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists, while Bogavac made 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. These 3 players perhaps deserve to share the Man of the match award this time.
Can’t trick the stats: We have already written that SC Derby tied the 2nd best league's all-time score for the most 3-pointers made in a single game, while we should also mention that their FG3% was very impressive as they were 20/30 (66.7%) from behind the arc.
