Conclusions of the remote ABA League j.t.d. Assembly session

The ABA League j.t.d. Assembly session, that has taken place on 8 May 2025 through the Zoom application, where all 12 shareholders have been present, has adopted a series of important and key decisions.

Based on the conclusions of the Working Group, that has been working intensively on reaching the new contract for the commercial rights (media and marketing rights), the ABA League j.t.d. Assembly has accepted the offer of the renowned international company and authorised the management to commence the work on the realization and signing of the contract. According to the estimate by the members of the Assembly, the accepted offer, which includes the cooperation in the forthcoming five years, will ensure the financial stability, but also a secure foundation for further growth and development of all of the competition under the umbrella of the ABA League j.t.d.

At the same time, based on the conclusions of the Working Group, as well as based on the decision that the 1st ABA League shall be composed of a maximum 20 clubs from the 2025/26 season, the ABA League j.t.d Assembly has adopted a series of criteria for awarding the wild cards. The adopted criteria among others include the restrictions on whether they are clubs from the region, Europe or wider, with a right of a priority and special criteria for the owners of the ABA League j.t.d., which could in accordance with the competition Bylaws, lose the right to participate in the 1st ABA League, during the competition in the current season.

Based on the adopted criteria, the ABA League j.t.d. Assembly has authorized the management to begin the negotiations with all of the clubs, that have recently officially expressed their desire to become members of the ABA League family, as well as those that contact the league with such a desire until 22 May 2025, in the shortest possible term.
